ERIC M NILSSON | VARIOUS WORKS
DEC 18, 2015–FEB 19, 2016
Introduction text by Marcus Steinweg  ENG/GER

Welcome to watch online three video works by Eric M Nilsson:  Viktig, Viktigare, Viktigast (1972), Vad som helst – till synes…(1977)  & Jag såg (2013).

Eric M Nilsson was an early member of the Swedish Television documentary film editorial staff, and his many distinctive films from the 1960s onward have come to fascinate and challenge a wide audience. Nilsson’s work is difficult to pin down, but many of his films deal with the relationship between language, information and communication. His unusual images and editing, together with the voiceover, build associative thought-patterns that highlights questions such as the status of documentary work.

In connection with the exhibition of Nilsson’s films, we will also publish a text by the German philosopher Marcus Steinweg: NINE STATEMENTS ON REALITY, DOCUMENTATION, ART, PHILOSOPHY, POLITICS, CRITIQUE, EXPERIMENT AND SUBJECTIVITY.  For Eric M Nilsson.
